International Day of Prayer for those with Autism & Aspergers

Tomorrow, Sunday, February 9, 2014 is recognized as the International Day of Prayer for those with Autism and Aspergers.

Our family is asking each of you to observe this day of prayer by standing in the gap for not only our family and Will, but other families as well. Pray diligently for these families in specific areas of need. Patience, understanding and wisdom when they are at a loss as to what to do next. Encouragement, blessings, and mercy when they need that extra dose. Pray supernatural rest over them including both parents, child on spectrum, and all siblings. Rest is not only physical but is needed in our homes on an emotional level as well as spiritual level. Also pray for the things you pray for your own families. A hedge of protection around your children and spouse, safety from harm, good days at work and school and that God gives us the desires of our heart…..

But in addition to your “normal ” prayer, for these families you might have to intercede a little more in the areas of overcoming bitterness, resentment, heartache and bullying, ridicule, and slander and continuous legal issues or problems with the school. As one could suspect families with special needs children are often hit on every side. Speaking personally, there are often times, I am so overwhelmed I cant even formulate the words to pray. I don’t even know where to start. It is in those times I pray that someone like you is standing in that gap and praying for me.

The special needs population at this time is the most “unchurched” entity in our society…. WHY??? Do parents like myself and Kris no longer need Godly assembling with others since having a child with autism? Is there an unwritten rule somewhere that states it disqualifies you from needing God, a church family or love and acceptance?

Most churches, organizations and individuals, don’t know what to do……… So we do nothing out of fear of doing the wrong thing!!! Please don’t let this be you!

You can make a difference! One smile, one prayer, one small encouraging word maybe all it takes….. Please stand in the gap for those who cant!!!!

Tomorrow’s prayers should be easy the international day of prayer came at a perfect time. During the olympics. So tomorrow while your watching, say a quick prayer over each country that is represented. If everyone does their part, we can prayer cover the entire nation plus!

Be blessed…… Be Fruitful…… Be Courageous!!!!!
